Jellystone 2009

Hello there back to blogging!!

Camping on Father's day weekend has become a tradition with us. This is our third year doing so. This past Father's day we camped at Jellystone park in Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin. We left on Friday in between storms, arrived at the campsite and just as we finished setting up another round of storms blew in. We spent the first night in the camper watching movies on the portable DVD player. The camper, as usual did not disappoint and kept us warm and dry. We awoke on Saturday to sunny, blue skies and warm temps. The day was spent at the pool. Emily is a fish!! She loves to swim and would spend the entire summer in a pool if allowed. Emily made a new friend named Lexi at the site next to us. They swam at the pool, visited neighboring campsites and played at the playground together. They were inseparable, except when helping her daddy get the fire started for roasting marshmallows. The fire ring was very wet from the previous day's rains but they never gave up and we had our camp fire and s'mores. There are some pictures of Emily entertaining us while the fire was being built. She can be such a goof ball and cracks us up! Also this past week Emily started swimming under water and not by accident! We were at a small water park in Woodstock and Emily saw her cousin Sophie and her little friend Kaliegh swimming under water and Emily was not going to be left out. She covered her face and under she went. She did this continuously for about 20 minutes and each time she came up for air she had a huge smile on her face and would put her little fists in the air and say "YES"! She was so proud of herself and to be honest I was too!! So now we are looking to get her some actual swim lessons so she knows the safety procedures and the proper way to swim. We are having a great time this summer and I can hardly believe it is the end of June already.

Enjoy the pictures!

Today we celebrated my nephew, Dylan's 2ND birthday. I can hardly believe Pickles is 2 already. Where does the time go?? My sister and her husband rented a water slide for the party and as you can see by the pictures it was a huge hit and not only with the kiddos!!
